Inflight Instructions
This product is wasted on puppies that are growing their first adult coats. It is for dogs that have already shed 80-90% of their coat, either from natural shedding, or from having puppies.
- I have given it to bitches that have whelped and then weaned their puppies; keep giving warm baths to get out as much coat as you can, and when you think there is only a little more to come out, start feeding the Inflight in the food, once a day. I have bitches that get their coats back ABOUT 2 months before they normally would be back into coat after a litter…and the coat seems to be much fuller/thicker, including leg hair, and very healthy. One of my bitches just POOFS right up almost as soon as I start to give it to her; others, you might not see the difference for a couple of months.
- Keep giving the Inflight while their coats are good and holding, and if you want to enter shows but think they might start blowing naturally, DOUBLE THE DOSAGE until after your shows. It will HELP keep the coat as long as possible, but you can only fool mother nature for so long. Eventually, they will drop coat anyway. After your shows, or when the dog is dropping coat despite your efforts, DISCONTINUE the Inflight until the dog has lost 80-90%, giving the warm baths, and start the process all over again.
- It is OK for pregnant bitches, in fact, I like it as the only supplement I use. Then I don’t give all the raspberry leaves, concept-a-bitch, etc. Too much supplementing may not be good, to my way of thinking.
- Same thing goes for males. When they are dropping 80-90% of the coat, give warm baths and brush out all the old dead coat, start giving the Inflight, according to weight. If you have shows coming up, DOUBLE the dosage until after the shows, same as above.
KEEP YOUR 1-LB CONTAINERS! The company has done much research as to getting the perfect, AIR TIGHT, containers. If you like what it does (and it might take up to 6-8 months of feeding, going thru a shed, etc, before you really know if you like it; AND don’t forget that some dogs will respond quicker than others to it), then, next time buy a 5-LB container (less expensive to buy larger quantity), keep THAT in the FREEZER, and keep filling your old 1-LB bucket from that, with only what you will use in a couple of weeks. Do NOT keep any containers in the fridge, it is too much moisture. And, push the top BACK ON the container to snap shut all the way around, after you dispense some. This is IMPERATIVE. Do not leave the cover part-way on.
- Feed by weight, according to container label, and have fun!
- I sell the product to people that have lots of other breeds, esp double-coated, but even some toys and hounds. It can’t HURT any dog, and is a good general supplement, if nothing else. I have had great success with it, and so have others.

A few things that should be noted regarding this product, from the manufacturer:
- Inflight Coat Formula (ICF) may make a dog hold it's coat through normal shedding periods. It is recommended that you take your dog off ICF and allow the coat to shed naturally, then put your dog back on the formula. This is especially true of double-coated breeds. During your normal grooming, when you start noticing a greater than normal amount of undercoat coming out, it's time to take the dog off the product. From personal experience, not taking the dog off the product can lead to an extended shedding period.
- Do not give ICF to an animal that is in the process of blowing coat. Wait until more than 90% of the coat has shed out prior to placing the dog on the formula; otherwise your dog may slow down the shedding process and not get the dead old coat out.
- If you are not going to use your entire order of Inflight Coat Formula within 1 month, please seal the extra and place in your freezer. ICF may be safely frozen and will remain fresh for up to 6 months in a sealed container. Do not refrigerate ICF at any time.
- You should always seek the advice of your veterinarian prior to supplementing your dog's diet.
- DO NOT GIVE MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED AMOUNT as a general rule. Inflight Coat Formula is a concentrated product. Giving more than the recommended amount will not be any more beneficial to your dog (unless you double the amt just to hold a blowing coat for a couple of weeks, prior to a show).
